Daniele Gallardo
Daniele Gallardo received in B.Sc, and M.Sc, in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin, Italy and developed his master thesis on power management systems for fuel cells networks at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the Field and Space Robotics Laboratory (FSRL). Daniele's foci during his master were modeling and control applied to energy and industrial processes. In 2014 Daniele completed his Ph.D. in aeronautical engineering at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), with a focus on aerodynamics, computational fluid dynamics and reduced-order modeling applied to fluid-structure interactions. Daniele was also instrumental for the design, assembly and testing of a six degree of freedom nano-satellite test-bed in the Advanced Autonomous Multiple Spacecraft (ADAMUS) laboratory at RPI. Daniele's multifaceted background, and his passion for renewable energies and entrepreneurship led him to found Actasys with the other two co-founders. Daniele focuses on the business development and on the day to day operations of Actasys.
Past the ending of its studies Dr. Gallardo cofounded Actasys, a company focusing on the development of revolutionary active flow control devices that will change the way aerodynamic is perceived. Actasys is currently focusing on the transportation market (heavy trucks), developing a novel system that will significantly improve trucks' fuel effciency. Daniele is responsible for the company business development, early-stage finance, marketing, and day to day operations.
