Low-Cost and Multifunctional 3D Printers

"Today, 3D printers are expensive. There are many different types of 3D printers depending on the application -- healthcare, construction, etc. I think lower cost, multifunctional 3D printers will allow for amazing innovation in the industry."

More Privacy Protecting and Privacy Protecting Apps

"With Ello raising millions even while banning ads or the selling of their data, there's clearly a hunger for privacy and security-conscious apps and websites that extends even into the ranks of investors. So I'm excited to see technology that restores a sense of control among consumers. Let's show the world that social media startups aren't just out to milk people for their retail dollars and personal data."

On-The-Go Power

"As dramatized in Samsung's "Wall Hugger" ad campaign, the problem that afflicts every technology user is the need for power on the go. Better batteries are part of the solution, but what's really needed is a way to recharge. There are a couple of interesting approaches ranging from using the sun to using our body's motion. We'll have to wait to see if CES has any answers to this not-quite-age-old quandary."

Graphene Coated Custom Bike Helmets

"Graphene is one of the strongest and lightest materials around, and the army is already looking into using it in body armor and helmets. Why not for cyclists too? I'd like to see a new generation of smart bike helmets, custom made to exploit the ultra light, strong and conducive properties of graphene. Maybe the helmet could even exploit graphene with solar cells to charge a headlamp and light sensor for night riding."

Shazam for Faces

"How great would it be to use your phone to identify the face of someone you didn't recognize from a master database, the way Shazam identifies music? Make it happen, tech startups."
